The road to Invesco, part 2: Finding a seat in the sky

It's way crowded privileged Invesco Field, even in the sections reserved for media. Elevator crowded.

Time to hike to where the people aren't: The extreme southwest, upper corner of the stadium. Section five hundred, row 22, seat 8. I'm higher than the bucking white Denver broncho atop the scoreboard to my right.

This quoin was seemingly held back for enjoyment as overflow seating; a contingent just arrived subsequently finding their lower grade seats occupied. On the east side of the stadium, behind the soapbox where Obama will verbalise, the upper five or six rows are likewise empty, in all likelihood for the same purpose. Those don't even throw American flags stuck in the cupholders, as every other seat seems to.

I haven't had seats this bad since seeing Springsteen at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas my newbie year in college. But the breeze is endearing up here, and the full expanse of the stadium is impressive.

The program is moving along briskly. Stevie Wonder and Take 6 performed a lame ballad followed by a solid "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" dedicated to Barack and Michelle Obama.

During Al Gore's speech, I was in line at the barbecue stand. The guy in front of me inquired about the difference between brisket and pulled pork barrel. Then he asked for extra heart, even as he blatantly tried to butter up the seller fixing his sandwich. Security did not filter out jerks.

After former Doobie Brother Michael McDonald and before a parade of generals, the "wave" sweeps through the stadium.

I view Democrats were hipper.

A woman just distributed blue "Change" signs to our far-off corner of the arena. The sun is grim and folks are pull out jackets. They ar showing Obama family photos on the big screen door. The stadium, at capacity, is hushed.

The headliner volition arrive soon....

Charlie Sheen - Sheen Richards Can Sue Me

LATEST: CHARLIE SHEEN has invited his ex-wife DENISE RICHARDS to sue him over claims she demanded a sample of his sperm.

Sheen and Richards took their bitter ex-marital battle to breakfast U.S. TV screens on Wednesday (21May08), when they clashed over an email the actress allegedly sent begging for a sperm donation from her ex-husband.

Richards denies sending the email to Sheen's fiancee Brooke Mueller, insisting her words were doctored.

But Sheen is so confident Richards did send the email, he has asked her to sue him.

He says, "Her claims that her e-mail has been fabricated or altered in any way to create this story are absurd. The mere fact the she continues to publicly discuss and harass both Brooke and me three years after our separation which, for the record is longer than the actual length of the marriage, is beyond desperate and speaks volumes.

"I will no longer sit back and be egregiously painted as a liar. If any proof can be established that these are not in fact her words and statements verbatim, I openly invite her and would even encourage Ms. Richards to sue me in a court of law."
